UPCOMING EVENT: Wesgro GreenCape Water Sector Dialogue, 26 March 2018

9 March 2018

Opportunity in the time of crisis: A dialogue on strengthening the water sector in the Western Cape

Water Sector Dialogue5

Wesgro and GreenCape cordially invite you to participate in a dialogue on the approach to strengthening the water sector in the Western Cape. The engagement will be addressed by the Minister of Economic Opportunities, Alan Winde.

GreenCape will also use the occasion to launch its latest Market Intelligence Report on the water sector.

The severe drought in our province provides us with a unique opportunity to build a resilient economy that is able to more effectively adapt to climate change. The drought is also a catalyst for the water sector to grow significantly, with innovative water saving and alternative water supply technologies and services, which will contribute to our province’s growing green economy.

What lessons did we learn from the energy crisis and how can we apply these to the water crisis? What barriers stand in our way in turning this
drought crisis into an opportunity? How can we evolve our policy, leverage our advantages and create an enabling environment to make this a reality?

Join us in an open dialogue, as we seek to address these questions and learn from those in the water sector.

To attend, please RSVP on the following link. When doing so, please include a question(s) that you would like to have answered during the dialogue. The question should specifically speak to the current policy, skills, regulatory or tariff issues that need addressing in order to stimulate the water economy.
