“What we are seeing is not only is the technology producing much cleaner power but it’s doing so at a lower cost than traditional fossil fuel technologies” says Rice. With projects, such as GRI Renewable Industries, already set up in the Atlantis Special Economic Zone, the Western Cape is seeing the advantages of renewable energy as an alternative source of power. “I have no doubt that renewables will address all of our power needs in time. This will happen sooner than people think,” Evan Rice.
